Hurricane Irene was a let down to many New Yorkers (and it's probably a blessing). The day before its arrival, looked like a scene from the end of the world. People frantically catching cab cars, lines out the door at grocery stores and tape across storefront windows as the city shut down. I managed to be invited to my friend's place who is a chef at one of the five star restaurants in the city. Because of the storm, the restaurant had to give away all of its food. So naturally, I at scallops and short ribs, while Irene raced towards us. It turned out to be nothing more than a lot of rain and a little wind. Yesterdays wind brought about some interesting cloud formations, as the storm pulled through and finally dissipated towards the end of the day. I was able to grab a shot of the sun coming through just before it set.

My photo was featured on CBS Nightly News - I'm at the end of the clip. I had a blast being interviewed though and honored to have the shot on their show.
