Obrázek + English: Portrait of the 29 small bodies of the solar system of 400+ km diameter, at the scale 1 px = 100 km

  • Are excluded the gas giants and the numerous trans-neptunian objects (other than Pluto and Charon) of sizable dimension.
  • From left to right and top to bottom:
    • 1st row: Mercury, Venus, the Earth and the Moon, Mars, the four main belt asteroids of 400+ km size (1 Ceres, 2 Pallas, 4 Vesta and 10 Hygiea)
    • 2nd row: Io, Europa, Ganymede, Callisto, Mimas
    • 3rd row: Enceladus, Tethys, Dione, Rhea, Titan
    • 4th row: Iapetus, Miranda, Ariel, Umbriel, Titania
    • 5th row: Oberon, Proteus, Triton, Pluto and Charon

By coincidence, the spacing between the objects matches closely the Pluto-Charon distance. The curve of the Sun's limb is in the background.
