Fotografie + Santorini Cathedral (This photo was taken on June 1, 2012 in Thira, Notio Aigaio, GR, using a Canon EOS 7D).

The Catholic Cathedral in Fira in Santorini.

This is an HDR of three RAWs shot handheld at ISO 1600. I did the following:

1) Full noise reduction in Imagenomic Noiseware, creating 3 separate TIFs. 2) Blend in Photomatix, creating both an Exposure Fusion and a Details Enhancer version. 3) Load both versions in PS and superimpose them to subdue the funky look of the benches. 4) Smart sharpen. 5) Selective processing of individual parts of the photo using curves: trips on the wallks saints, stautue, painting on the right, windows, ceiling, lamp, floor, columns.

I see how this works now so next time I can do it better. It was fun to try it out. For example, the paintings of the saints were subdued and barely visible even in the HDR. The selective curves really brings them to life.
