Fotografie + Description:

  • English: What knot to do with Japanese Knotweed, Stoke-on-Trent. Japanese Knotweed is known to be an invasive and pestilential plant. It is a criminal offence to maliciously spread it by any means. It can re-root from small cuttings or bits of root. Half an hour ago I helped pull a lot out of the canal lock just south of here. The source was this example of cemetery (or council parks department) staff chopping it down by this bridge and chucking it in the canal. See my picture of the rapidly spreading colony at the other end of the cemetery two months ago. 555828 No wonder it is spreading all down the canal, when the bits get chewed up as they go through the lock paddles on their way to Stone!
